A huge THANK YOU to all everyone who braved the rain yesterday! Surfers, parents, friends supporters, spectators…It’s all of YOU who make this event so rad! And thank you to the many, many volunteers who made this event possible! here we go...looks like fun times tomorrow..maybe a few raindrops & some sun beams.

**LOCATION AND TENTATIVE SCHEDULE** Excited to see you all at the beach! LOCATION - TBA Friday (September 18) OR Saturday am (September 19) on the Facebook Event Page TIME - The contest will start at 9 am sharp. WEATHER - This is Tofino, please remember to bring clothing for all weather - don’t forget the sunscreen. Sounds like we might have sun and some wind and lots of waves! WATER & FOOD - We will have food sales at the beach, provided by Wildside Grill. We will also have some water, but please bring full bottles for your family! Come prepared for a full, fun day at the beach! SAFETY - If any parents would like to be in the water with the kids, please bring your wetsuits. For the expression session, bodyboards, bodysurfing, tandem, shortboard, longboard, anything goes and go out with your kids !!! We ask that for the competitive divisions parents don’t push their kids into waves, but are welcome to be out past the break for safety. Below is a tentative schedule. Please keep in mind this can change!! For the kids in the competitive divisions we have had to cap their participation to 1 division only (in appropriate age group) due to the huge amount of registrations. In order to let all the kids have a fair chance to participate, we are definitely encouraging the competitive kids to also do the expression session as their 2nd division. We thought better to include everyone, than exclude anyone! And next year, the event will have to run over 2 days! Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for sharing the daylight with each other (101) and the understanding. A successful beach clean up was held Thursday afternoon at Cox Bay in Tofino. The Bruhwiler Families hosted the event so the kids could clean up their playground in preparation for The 2nd Annual Bruhwiler Kids Classic surf contest & beach day, Saturday September 19th. The kids noticed there were a lot of micro plastics to be picked up! beer cans and flip flops.   |
